Summer Beach Trip

I just realized I never blogged about your first beach trip.

The third week of July, we headed to Myrtle Beach, SC with Poppy and Gigi for 3 days. We stayed at Aunt Brenda's Beach house at Ocean Lakes Campground. You were a blast!
You absolutely loved the ocean. You would sit on our laps and watch the waves. Daddy dipped you in quite a few times, and your little legs would just kick away in the water. Poppy took you for walks down the beach every day, and Gigi taught you how to drink out of a cup/straw!

We took you for golf cart rides after lunch every day. Riding the golf cart was your favorite thing. The wind blowing in your faced made you giggle. It was perfect for getting you down for a nap, too! That always makes for a happy mama.

You had your first taste of ice cream at the Campground Ice Cream Shop. It is tradition to always eat ice cream there, so where better to have your first taste! We gave you vanilla and you loved it.

You also had your first Frozen Lemonade from the girl on the beach who pushes around the stand! It was so hot, we thought we would try to cool you off. I think you loved it more than the ice cream. It was quite yummy!

At Barefoot Landing, you rode on a carousel for the first time. It went way faster than any carousel ever should. Mommy and Daddy rode with you, and it almost made daddy motion sick (yes, it was going that fast!) Gigi and Poppy watched and tried to take pictures and videos. You LOVED it!

You were not a fan of the car ride. Both times, you slept for the first two hours (woohoo!) but as soon as you woke up, you were ready to be OUT! I ended up having to sit in the back with you. Daddy and I sang every song we knew...even "The Twelve Days of Christmas" in July 100 Degree weather!

We collected some seashells to keep from your first trip. You were the best beach bum and we cannot wait to take you back next year!

Here's a few pictures...they aren't the best, but I didn't carry around the camera a lot!
