First off, all you fellow readers, so sorry I did not update after the doctor last week. So many of you had called, sent text, etc. that I just forgot.
The doctor was very pleased with my blood pressure when we returned. It was 126/80, so still a little high for where they want it in pregnancy, but definitely not skyrocketing, like it was. We are just going to continue monitoring it for now and we will go from there.
But, NO preeclampsia right now, which is what we were most concerned with. Again, they will continue to monitor.
You, sweet girl, were kicking up a storm. While the nurse was getting your heart rate on the Doppler, you were kicking the Doppler. I know, it WAS cold!
For right now, we ask everyone just keep praying that my blood pressure maintains at a safe level. I can feel when my blood pressure is rising, and usually take that as a que to REST!
During all the spouts of morning sickness (7 months and going strong), I have busted a blood vessel in my eye...you would think it was a main artery or something...I will spare you pictures for those with weak stomachs. Hopefully within two weeks, the white of my eye will be WHITE again..
Today at work, my eye started to feel "wet" and the blood was seeming to fill up again.
I left work to come home and rest, called the doctor, they explained it is normal with the persistent throwing up and with high blood pressure, so I am figuring my blood pressure must have been rising! All those last minute Halloween shoppers must have been getting to me!
Doctors' office said it was okay, should clear up within 14 days, and to call them to come in, if the rising blood pressure (refilling up with blood) seems to continue. So, we could definitely use continued prayers for stabilization in this area.
Other than that, we are getting super excited. I go through little panic modes (which probably do not help the BP) that you will be here within the next 13 weeks. We are in our last week of 2nd trimester. I remember way back in the beginning, your daddy said he felt like it would be right around the corner when we hit November 1st....that's TOMORROW!!!!
We love you sweet girl! You have been so active lately and we love feeling you!
LESS THAN 90 DAYS!!!!!

Are We There Yet?
Good evening, sweet pea!
On Saturday, we hit DOUBLE DIGITS! Your daddy and I celebrated. We went to Tony's in Gastonia. We were going to play Putt-Putt but it got too cold, so we went and walked around Target then went to Krispy Kreme. Yum!
Tonight, we are at 96 days and counting. That's only like THREE MONTHS!!! Some days it seems like so far away! Other days, I feel like it is right around the corner.
I am hitting the uncomfortable stage. It hurts to sit, hurts to stand, hurts to stay still, hurts to move. Walking helps me not get sick though, so your daddy and I have tried to walk around somewhere every night if we are out. Some times it helps, other times it doesn't. Still sick almost every day....not as often in the morning, but a lot during the day and especially evening and night time. I wish I knew what could make it stop. I now have busted blood vessels on the skin around my eyes, caused by the strain of throwing up. You always seem to get really worn out after wards, too. I'm sorry, baby girl! The doctor's still just say I am one of the 3% who will be sick the whole time...but maybe when they see my eyes, they will try something else!
On a positive note, I was given permission to take Prilosec for the heartburn and acid reflux! It has done WONDERS!!! Makes my life so much more enjoyable during the day!
You are on the move! You are obviously getting bigger. Even though I still feel like you are in the breech position, I can feel you more up higher. And sometimes it is more rolls and tumbles and kicks. They're precious! You are definitely stubborn though! I don't know who you get that from more...your daddy or me? You always kick on demand! Always! If he starts talking to you, you'll kick. The other day, we wanted Aunt Shannon to feel you. We tried and tried. You would not budge...not even a little flutter the whole day! As soon as we get in the car to come back to Charlotte, you were kicking up a storm....I don't think you have stopped since. Ooooh, you definitely already rule this roost!
Tonight we went and picked up MY baby dress from my parents. This was the dress I wore home from the hospital 25 YEARS AGO! It has discolored a little over the years. We will get you a dress, but I definitely am excited you will at least be able to have a picture or two taken in this dress. I'm really excited about it!
We go back to the doctor on Thursday for a blood pressure and protein in urine check up! At that time we will decide whether it is preeclampsyia, if I just need medication to control my blood pressure, any restrictions that need to be placed, or who knows what. Don't you worry, baby girl, I have tons of people praying for us both! We WILL be fine, no matter what!
Love you and sweet dreams, love bug!

Daddy Goes to the Doctor
As we were sitting in the doctor's office on Monday waiting for the doctor....at this point we didn't realize we were actually waiting for my blood pressure to go down....your daddy realized where he truly was and how many dads must not come to these appointments....
He entertained himself reading about your monthly recaps in womb and self breasts exams.
Then, in the corner, a pretty graphic picture of all the lady parts, in detail. Needless to say, he had to close the curtain because it was "staring him down!"
Poor fella! Next time, he may volunteer to stay in the waiting room!

25 Week Update
Your daddy and I went to our 25 week appointment this morning. Good news is the nurse was able to find your heart beat immediately, so we did not have another panic moment. Your BPM was 159, which is higher than it usually is, but still perfectly normal.
However, mama's blood pressure is high and a cause for concern. The first was obviously extremely high (we weren't even told that number)....then the doctor made us wait in the room for awhile and we took it again. 131/90. I am sure most of you reading this are asking what the problem is, that isn't high. Well, at this point in my pregnancy, my blood pressure should be dropping and be fairly low. The Doctor said it should be about 90/60 at this point. What also is a concern, is mine is always 120/80 - always! So not only is it not dropping, but it is also increasing. This would explain the killer headaches I get. Just the other day, I cried myself to sleep it hurt so bad.
I couldn't pee when we first got there, but they asked I give a urine sample before I could leave. They want to check the protein in my urine.
The concern is that I may be showing early signs of preeclampsia. For the next week, we are going to monitor it. I am going to rest and take it easy. I will return next week for a follow up to monitor my blood pressure again. If still high, we will then decide what course of action we need to take. It may be to come back in another week to monitor it. It may be sitting at the doctor's until it goes down. Who knows.
We aren't jumping the gun - we are going to wait until next week, but all I know is the thought of preeclampsia definitely did not help my blood pressure. We made it to the car and I lost it. I know I work too hard. I know I am too stressed. I feel like a failure and now I feel like I am potentially hurting you.
Poor daddy. He has tried to keep me calm all day. He has been so supportive. He keeps reminding me to just wait until next week....so we will wait. We love you sweet pea and promise we are and will do everything we can to keep you cooking. You are more important than anything else.
Love you princess!
P.S. Thanks for all the sweet kicks today! I needed them!

Daddy Felt You Kick!!!
24 weeks 4 days...This morning...while lying in bed....daddy felt you kick for the first time! What a proud papa I now have on my hands! The pure joy he had on his face is a look I will never forget. I think we are both on cloud nine today! I have felt you for so long, but since you are so low and my placenta is in the way, it took you to get super strong for others to be able to feel you.
We knew you were getting stronger. The past few days you have been moving constantly and it has turned from jabs and kicks to also feeling rolls and tumbles. My active little girl!
Last night we were up at Gram and Pop's house and you went crazy when you heard Pop's deep voice. I thought you were going to jump out of my belly. LOVE! I can't wait for him to sing to you!
We love you sweetpea! Kick away...we love it!

Craft for your Nursery...
Momma got crafty and decided to make a craft for your nursery walls. We have "Hot Chocolate" colored walls, so I've been looking for things to do to brighten up the brown walls.
My bright idea was to paint wooden letters and have your name spelled out on the wall - and then it hit me, I do not have enough patience to paint letters (sorry, baby!) so instead I bought fancy, textured scrapbook paper and Voila....
The pictures, honestly, do not do it justice! I love it! I hope you will too! Who knew, all I needed was a little hot glue gun. It took three trips to Michael's....obviously, wooden letters are a VERY popular item and not one store had every letter in your name.
We love you, baby girl. Your daddy and I love doing things for your nursery.
Oh....and a little secret...your daddy wrote on the back of one of the little flowers for you...
Excuse my swollen little fingers, but do you see it? Look closely! Daddy wrote "I love you!" on the back of one of the little flowers. It melts my heart to know that will be hanging on your wall while you sleep in there.
We cannot wait for you to be here!! 111 more days! I can't believe we are almost down to double digits!
On other fronts, daddy now has his sympathetic craving he can not get enough of....ROOTBEER! Yuck!

A Little Pick Me Up...
I have been completely overwhelmed and hit my breaking point the past few days with this awful morning sickness. Every time, I get so upset and it just plum wears me out. We know you are so worth it and everyone tells me I will forget all about it once you are here, but every day for 6 months (sometimes two and three times a day) is dragging me down NOW. So for this week, to pep me up, we are trying to focus on and remember all the good things....so I thought I would share a few.
1) You are absolutely precious...already! Every night we dance in the kitchen with daddy. We "belly bump" him...which makes you kick, and makes me giggle...and he thinks you and I are nuts...but we have fun!
2) We bought a little children's story book Bible....we have been reading it to you - a few little stories every night. Well, Daddy reads it to you. It melts my heart. Hearing him talk definitely seems to soothe you.
3) You love any kind of music. It definitely gets you moving.
4) Mookie, has become so super protective of you and I. The other morning, I was at the kitchen sink (it was the closest place I could get to fast) and I was sick as can be then got really upset and was crying, and Mookie was going NUTS outside trying to get in to make sure we were okay. Love him...and love him even more that he loves you.
5) We went to the mountains today and bought you a Appalachian toboggan and it is SO tiny...I honestly cannot believe your tiny little head is going to fit in it.
I know we are starting to get towards the end...my feet are starting to swell on a daily basis, stretch marks are appearing and taking over my belly (but I'm okay with it because I just think of them as my "battle scars"), when I sneeze I tinkle, and my mom is going to help me shave my legs tomorrow! Ha! Yes, we have hit that point in this pregnancy!
Love you, sweet pea, and so ready for you to be here.

6 months....
It is hard to believe we are at the 6 month mark! In 4 months or less you will be here! I have a feeling these 4 months are going to fly by. 1 month is Halloween, the next month is Thanksgiving, then one more month is Christmas, then anytime in the next month, YOU! Wow! Now may be the time I start going into panic mode!!
You are much more active these days. That darn placenta is still front and center, so your daddy still has not been able to feel you, which is killing us both because you have gotten super strong to me. So hopefully it will be soon. I have almost figured out your sleep patterns. Every night around 7-8 you are the most awake and alert.
Since you are so low, we make lots of trips to the restroom. I think I will be the one in diapers pretty soon. You are at the right spot where every time you kick, I have to GO! Thanks, little one! We spend most of our day (and night) running back and forth to the bathroom.
The two things I have craved recently, you are NOT a fan of. A few weeks ago, it was the Jamacian Honey Chicken at Lancasters. I know, it was way too spicy for you. Sorry, sweet cheeks. You only let me eat one, and you were so angry. You kicked ALL night long.
Then, two nights ago, I NEEDED Chinese! We went to the House of Taipei (our favorite) and my exact words were, "This is the best eggroll I have ever had!" It definitely hit the spot. Not for you, though. I barely made it home, and spent the next 15 minutes with my head in the tiolet.
Speaking of being sick, the morning sickness is 6 months and going strong. The doctor broke the news that unfortunately, it looks like we are in the very small percentile that are sick up until your arrival...We are still taking Zofran every day. I am so thankful for my wonderful insurance that makes it affordable, because I'm eating them like candy! I know you are worth it. I'd do it a million times over for you.
They say you are now fully aware of your surroundings and can hear almost all outside noises. Your daddy talks to you daily...we play you music, we just bought a book to start reading to you...we sway to music...fun stuff!!! You seem to love it all.
We love you, our little pumpkin peanut! We pray you are comfortable and growing strong and healthy. We cannot wait for you to get here. Love you, sweet girl!
