Avery's First Waffle

Yesterday morning I decided I would make waffles for Mike. While I was making them Avery ate her breakfast....Oatmeal, Banana Nut Cherrios, and yogurt...

However to entertain her in her highchair (do not judge me!) I gave her a waffle...even with a little butter and a drip of syrup. Honestly, the drip was no bigger than a pencil eraser and I smeared it across the waffle. This girl went nuts. It was hilarious. She would not look at me, for fear I would take it away.

So our conversation went like this...

"Avery, is that good? Do you like waffles?"

"Look at Mommy. Do you like your waffle?"

"Avery, mommy won't take it away. Look at mommy!"

"Hahaha! Avery!!"

"Is it good, babygirl?"

Halloween!

We had a great 1st Halloween with you!

You were the sweetest little strawberry!

The weekend before we heading to Gigi and Poppy's.  Gigi and Mama made cupcakes and cookies while the boys watched football and you napped.  Mawmaw and Pawpaw even came over.  We decorated cupcakes and just hung out.  We had so much fun.  We even took a few Thanksgiving pictures of you in the front yard.

On Halloween night, daddy had to work so mama headed with you back over to Gigi and Poppy's house.  We handed out candy on the front porch.  Lots of fun!

We can't wait to see what you will be next year.  I am sure you will be running up to houses next year screaming "Trick or Treat!"

Happy 10 Months!!!

Avery Mackenzie,

You are now 10 months old!  Where has the time gone?!?
These past few weeks your personality has fully come out.  I feel like we have left the baby stage and headed full force into the toddler stage!  I was suppose to have two more months of "baby"!
You crawl throughout the entire house...whether mama or dada go, there you are on our heels.  You help clean the kitchen, fold laundry, cook dinner.

You, by far, are the happiest baby we have ever seen.  You are so laid back and easy going.  I don't think you have ever met a stranger. Vieria is your best friend at daycare.  We hear stories every day of you sharing toys and playing together. One day, she walked right up to us as we entered, and when you got down on the floor, she came and sat beside you and gave you a toy.  The two of you gossip up a storm together, too. Precious!

Your favorite foods are peas, carrots, and pears!   You will eat anything, although your least favorites are peaches, bananas and green beans.  A few days ago you ate a whole piece of cheese pizza.  Today, you ate a bowl of spaghetti.  Mama and daddy remember when we celebrated you eating 3 cc's of milk out of a syringe....and now pizza and spaghetti!  So bittersweet!

You are SMART!  You are so inquisitive.  You do not miss a beat. You love books.  You love singing songs. You are into every thing, and are always laughing.  Bath time is probably your favorite time of the day.

You say "mama" and "dada" now...and respond to conversations with "Yea", "No," "Okay" and sometimes it sounds like "Thank you!"  Even when we can't understand you, you are usually babbling away about your day.

You are still not the napper...I am guessing you won't be.  You do still sleep through the night...roughly 7pm-5:30/6:00am, so we won't/can't complain.

We love you so much baby girl.  Your daddy and I were just talking today that we could have never imagined you being SO fun, SO sweet, SUCH a joy!  You already surpass everything we ever dreamed of a child.  We are so blessed and thankful to call you our child.

We love you to the Moon and Back!!!

Day Trip To Boone

Last Friday, mommy and daddy both had the day off.  It was my first day no longer employed with CVS/Pharmacy, so to celebrate, your daddy and I decided to head to the mountains for a family fun day.

You, once again, slept like a champ the entire way up there!  We met your Uncle Jeff at Macados and spent the afternoon with him.

SIDE NOTE:  While at Macados we got a Parking Ticket on King Street.  If we could count the  number of tickets the three of us have combined in Boone, we would have to win some award.  Honestly, a trip is not complete without a ticket, it seems.

Anyway, after Macados, we headed up to Grandfather Mountain.  We had such a great day!  Mommy cannot do the swinging bridge, ONE MILE HIGH. My anxiety kicks in, which then sends my Blood Pressure through the roof, and well, that's something we try to avoid these days...so you and I sat and watched as daddy and Jeff went across.  Your daddy really wanted to take you across.  I told him, I couldn't let him without having a panic attack, but I would let you go as far as I could handle.  He agreed.  Y'all made it half way!

And like a champ, you slept the whole way home and stayed asleep while I transferred you to your crib!  You are the best baby EVER!  We love you and thank you for the awesome family day!
