HOLY HEART ATTACK!!!

You, my sweet little princess, are not funny!  You gave me and your daddy a heart attack this morning.  Today we had a routine checkup at the doctor's.  We go, I am suppose to pee but I couldn't this morning, they check my blood pressure, weight, etc. then we check your heartbeat....Ooooh, but wait, where is your heartbeat?!?!  I went into MAJOR Panic mode....and Mike wouldn't even look at me. I think we were both about to die!  "I JUST FELT YOU MOVING THIS MORNING!!!" was all I wanted to scream! The nurse wouldn't make eye contact and kept running the Doppler all over my belly.  She asked where they usually find your heartbeat, etc.  I was about to LOOSE IT!! Then after about 5 minutes, which felt like an eternity, there you were...beating at 150bpm like usual.  Whew!  NOT FUNNY, little one!

Turns out, you are very low, which the doctor later told us, once you get into that spot, you will most likely stay low the whole pregnancy...it is where you are most comfortable.  No wonder I have to use the bathroom every 20 minutes already and it's already SO hard for me to get off the couch!!!
Everything else is fine....you are measuring perfect, I have only gained 6-8lbs (I can't remember the exact number I started at) which I am impressed about, considering all the pumpkin and sweets I crave.

I got refills on the Zofran....I have decided we more than likely will have morning sickness the entire pregnancy, since most women stop having morning sickness between 12-14 weeks.  The doctor is not worried, since it is only late at night/early morning, I am gaining weight, and we are measuring right on target.

In the next week or two the doctor said we will be able to feel you MUCH more and regularly....your daddy will even be able to feel you!!  How exciting....it's taking a little longer because my placenta is right up front in the way, whatever that means!

All in all, great visit, once we knew you were okay!!  We love you so much, sweet girl!!

Registering, Decorating, and all things Pink....

Yesterday, after church we went to Babies R Us with Gigi ("Moppy") and Poppy and registered for you.  We had so much fun.  We had to keep reminding ourselves we were registering for you, not really shopping.  We wanted to keep adding things to our cart.  It was addicting.

We did walk out with a crib, a mattress, bedding, and some wall decals.  Today, since Tropical Storm Lee is passing through, we decided we would go ahead and set up everything.  We had so much fun and it turned out wonderful.  We love it and cannot wait to have you in it.

**Our walls are really not THIS dark and the pinks, greens, and purples are much more vibrant in person.

Last night we also went to register at Target, and had to go back today to make sure the registry was actually up and running.  They were doing a new website/system upgrade last night...luckily, today, everything we did last night WAS saved.
I would definitely call the last two days successful!!!  Love you, baby girl!

YOU ARE A GIRL!!!!!!

We are excited! Absolutely, head over heels, jumping for joy, ecstatic!!!  We went to the doctor September 2, 2011 and you are in fact a GIRL!

Your daddy said he knew all a long, but I had the gut feeling you were a little boy.  Sorry, sweet pea!  We were so excited for your appointment.  Your daddy and I both had strep throat last week and were worried we wouldn't make it to the doctor, but both felt almost normal...and were no longer contagious!

You were healthy and passed all the "tests"...your bones are developing, you have a four-chambered heart, blood is flowing throughout your body, you have all parts of your brain, you have kidneys, etc. etc....you were beautiful, and we are already wrapped around your little finger. You are weighing in at a whopping 8 ounces. Your heartbeat is holding strong at 148 bpm.

It was precious...you were sleepy and trying to relax.  You had both your hands up on your face.  You didn't want to move around for us.  The ultrasound tech jabbed my tummy around with her ultrasound wand and you kind of fluttered around and did not seem amused....you were waving your hands in front of you, as if you were saying "Okay, okay, stop it!" Because of the way you were laying, we could not get a good profile picture of you, so as the tech tried to turn you again, one last time, you shot up the THUMBS UP like "Leave me alone, everything is good in here"...I know, sweet girl, so sorry we bothered you!  Absolutely adorable though!

So here's the deal, we had decided we wanted to tell our family in person first, not just call them up or let them read it on Facebook...so the night before, we got off work, ordered take-out Chinese, and baked cupcakes!

Since we had roughly 10 family members we would be telling, 12 of them we wrote "BOY" on and decorated, the other 12 we wrote "GIRL" on and decorated.  They were precious!

We were going to put them in little Chinese take-out boxes, we had cards written out to each family member, from you, signed with your name (which we will get to later) and I thought this cute little crafty project would be perfect.  Well, my crafty ideas NEVER turn out well.
It happened to get up 98 degrees yesterday, so even though we had the cupcakes packed in a cooler, with ice, the icing still melted off of some of them....actually most of them.

We went to Mike's family first, they got the actual cupcakes - we made them eat "BOY" cupcakes though so we could reuse the GIRL ones...classy, I know.  But then, on the way back to Charlotte, those melted, so we ended up going to Target, buying a little circle cake writing, "It's a GIRL" on it and taking it to my parents and grandparents.

I would have been so disappointed, if I wasn't so excited about you!!
We DID buy you a few outfits at Target - I really just could not resist!

We are now on vacation this week so we have a whole week devoted to you - we are buying your crib tomorrow hopefully and decorating some of you nursery.  We are registering for you, hopefully looking at day cares (we need to find one right by where we work, since your daddy and I work a mile from each other), and a few other things - we are so excited.

And, after much debate and going back and forth between a few times, we have decided on your name.....
AVERY MACKENZIE LANE!!!!  We hope you like it, because we think it is beautiful!  Ever since I did after school tutor program at Valle Cruis Elementary and met a little girl named Avery, I knew I wanted to name my child Avery if she was a girl.  But we were leaning away from it, because three of four people I know have recently named their daughters, and one son, Avery.  However, they aren't close friends we see everyday, so your daddy finally talked me into it. Your daddy picked your middle name.  He likes those "Tomboy" names, as he called it.

We love you to the moon and back, sweet girl!!!  You have so many people who already love you and are ready to spoil you!!!  We cannot wait to meet you!

P.S. You are so lucky to have your daddy.  He is spoiling us both rotten!!!  It's melting my heart!
